National Standards and Instructional Strategies for Foreign Language Teaching

The Language Institute's invited lecture series in 2006-07 will bring to the UW-Madison campus leaders in foreign language education, applied linguistics and second language acquisition to give talks on the five "C's" of the National Standards for Foreign Language Education. Speakers will include Heidi Byrnes, Georgetown University; Richard Kern, University of California, Berkeley; June Phillips, Weber State University; Dr. Joan Rubin, Joan Rubin Associates; and Steven Thorne, Pennsylvania State University.
