Dates and Deadlines

Registration for Preliminary Examinations

Preliminary exams may be given at three times during the academic year:

  • during finals exam week of the spring semester
  • during the week before the first week of classes of the fall semester
  • during the week before the first week of classes of the spring semester.

The deadline for registering to take seated portions of the preliminary exams in January, 2010 is November 1, 2009. The deadline to register to take the exams in May, 2010 is March 1, 2010. To register, indicate your intent in writing, confirming your strand and minor, by sending an email message to Dianna Murphy.

12:00-3:00 pm, Monday, January 11
Overview of SLA Theory, Part I: General
Receive quantitative article

12:00-3:00 pm, Tuesday, January 12
Quantitative Research Methodology

12:00-3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13
Overview of SLA Theory, Part II: Strand
Receive quatitative article

12:00-3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 14
