Ruth Olayemi Adeniyi
I graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, with a bachelor’s degree in French language. Upon graduation, I gained practical teaching experience at a middle school and a language institute, where I taught French language to middle school students and adults, respectively. Given my interest in French linguistics and pedagogy, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At UWM, I taught beginning French courses for two academic years and my passion for language teaching and learning process got reinforced. During my doctoral program at UW-Madison, I focus on furthering my research on innovative and inventive language teaching and learning methods such as the use of technology and open educational resources to encourage students’ engagement and autonomy.
