Theme
In this year’s conference, Language, Culture, and Globalization: Transdisciplinary Perspectives, we would like to draw attention to the role of culture in language development and education in the current era of globalization, characterized by increased transnational migration and use of communication technologies that allow for intercultural exchanges. We also recognize that while language and culture have been inextricably linked in language studies, this relationship has been framed and addressed from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. We invite presenters to explore the connection between language and culture in SLA and other areas of language studies, in a world where the local and global increasingly intersect and shape each other and give rise to a number of issues related to language learning and use.
